Hotel Verdi

This hotel is a disgrace Firstly, I booked a room for 5 people (4 adults and 1 child aged 13) and then went to the room only to find out that three beds were there (1 double and 2 singles), instead of five as promised on the website. Another issue were the towels of which there was 3 larger ones and 2 smaller ones near the sink (not enough for 5 people). Then we went to the reception to inform them about these issues and the lady offered us a €20 discount if 3 people slept on one double bed meant for two people (which is outrageous, especially after being up since 4am and travelling for the whole day). We of course said that this would not be an option due to the lack of space and the lady told us that she would bring another bed in 30 minutes (we ended up waiting an hour). Furthermore, this was at night so we wanted to get some food after a long journey- which we didn’t get to do, due to the long wait. Additionally, the sink would not drain from the first use ,the hairdryer did not work and the fan extractor in the bathroom was broken. SKY TV was promised on the website and was even written down in the room- however there was no SKY TV when we checked! The kitchen was completely unequipped, with not even a kettle to make tea. The pictures on the website are misleading as the bed frames were scratched and looked used. A more minor issue was the unavailability of breakfast if it was overbooked. The location if this hotel is horrible, close to bars/pubs so lots of shouting at night. Lastly, there was wifi promised in all areas of the hotel yet as soon as we went into our room it had disconnected- which was a major issue due to the lack of roaming abroad. The only positive comment I can say is that the housekeeper was very polite and respectful and the room was quite clean.

One big drama. Even though the staff tries their best, they can't do much. The reception only works in the afternoon, there is no one at night and in the morning. The rooms are very modest, bare cables stick out from the walls, the railings on the balconies are unscrewed, the "5-person apartment" is a room like in a cheap hostel - one room with many beds. The furniture is scratchy as if it was in a garbage dump. Wifi worked barely and only in the corridor. When we returned from the trip in the evening, it turned out that the corridor and part of our room were flooded with water. It took the reception ladies over an hour to put our room in a usable condition, i.e. towels were spread all over the floor. The cleaning service showed up only in the morning. We were not offered to change the room to a dry one. There are no keys for the locks in the bathrooms, even at the hall. The hot breakfast included only scrambled eggs and sausages with ketchup. There was no mustard or vegetables. One big disaster!

I have stayed in this hotel back in 2017 Summer. It was absolutely in top notch condition and customer service was excellent. However, recently, I stayed here from 16 September to 19 September, 2022. Oh Boy! The hotel is falling apart! Furnitures are old, alot of cigarette butts in balcony, there was a cigarette odour in room, etc. On our last night, we could not access into our room due to some mistake made by the staff! We were literally locked out late night and had to call hotel manager number, as the one they have placed a help thingy infront of the reception was useless! The person could not talk in English and would disconnect the call! After a couple of calls, thankfully, the hotel manager gave us the code for the backup card and we were able to gain access to our room. Will never stay here again until they renovate the hotel and bring back that excellent customer service they once had back in 2017. 0 stars!

I 100% dont recommend to book this hotel. Till the payment they are super nice and after that everything is totally oposite. We book a room for 2 adults plus 3 kids, quadruple room, the youngest is only 1 and she could sleep with us, in reality we got just 1 double bed plus 1 single bed. Ok, no problem, but when i want to get a difference between both rooms back they ignore everything. Plus the shower's door were broken and because of that everywhere was wet. I told to hotel about that and they ignore it too. The only but really the only good "thing" in this hotel was a lady next morning who prepared a breakfast. She was really nice and checked if we have everything. Other things, stuff, a night "reception" (except a lady on phone who really wanted to help), only negative comments. So i really dont recommend this hotel because when they get a payment all help, nice personality, etc just disappear. We really expect more and we are really disappointed about this "three stars hotel". It doesnt deserves 3 stars, neither 1. If they will except their mistake to give us a wrong room and just to return a difference in a price what we paid and what we actually get, our opinion will be totally different ... Everybody can make a mistake. But no, they have our money and now they just ignore us, they dont care about their customers and maybe future potencial new visitors, they care only about a money....
